A guesthouse with tradition

The Fosthof was first mentioned in 1563 in a document as the property of the monastery administrator Caspar Euvelstätter.

In 1829, under the owner Franz Kreis, he became a tavern and received the name “Zum Fosthof”.

In 1865, an Andreas Ruder from Rollhof acquired the property and later passed it on to his son Franz. A shooting hall, an ice cellar and a bowling alley extended: the original inn.

In 1912, this handed over the entire property to his son Franz Ruder, who was married to Katharina Schmalzbauer.

In 1942, Paul Ruder inherited the house of his parents, who continued it together with his wife Maria, née Mühlbauer from Trautmannshofen. He built a hall in place of the former bowling alley in 1947, to which the new inn “Zum Forsthof” was attached in 1954.

In81, Paul Ruder handed over the entire property to his daughter Anneliese; who is married to Johann Reindl. Together they expanded the inn to a hotel in 1991/92 and gave it its current reputation.

Since 2017, daughter Birgit has been co-owner in the company with husband Markus Lehmeier.
